  • A nine-week in-person group for women exploring their childhood experiences of sexual harm and abuse.

  • Part 1 / The dynamics of Abuse

    Part one is about facing the war that abuse stirs: facing the battle, the enemy of shame, brokenness, the war with contempt, and the stages and definitions of abuse.

  • Part 2 / The Damage of Abuse

    Part two is about facing the damage that occurs in abuse honestly, including powerlessness, betrayal, ambivalence, and secondary symptoms, and how it impacts how we relate to others as we lose sight of faith, hope, and love.

  • Part 3 / Prerequisites for Growth

    Part three is about acknowledging the damage, entering the damage with curiosity and kindness, and walking down the path of bold love.

Course structure

This is a 9 week group co-led by Kathy and another Allendar trained therapist. We use his book, The Wounded Heart to explore the dynamics and damage of abuse and the pre-requisites for growth.
